Our first wines, made on the 1st of May were dubbed “May Day” and picked up by the folks at the Austral Spectator and given 3 stars. [The South American Guide to Wine was a worldy addition to Chilean wine publications that sadly no longer includes Chile- we miss you Diego!] Unos de nuestros primeros vinos fueron descubiertos por los de Austral Spectator y el Guia de Vinos de Sud America. Recibieron tres estrellas de cuatro.[nggallery id=1]

This is a mysterious wine that shows itself gradually over time. On the nose it has a subtle floral note to begin haps plummy cherries and in the mouth there is big cherry fruit and blueberries (not the jammy blueberries of Zin but tighter more acidic blueberries that are really quite funky and rewarding.) It has a smokey quality with chocolaty notes and a finish that is meaty / bacony notes from warm climate Chilean Syrah. Drink with a stew with merken if you can find it. myRating 4/5
